Too often, I get messages from heartbroken pet parents who start with the same words:
"I've been meaning to book a photoshoot, my dog has just received a poor diagnosis … can we book something quickly?"
And of course, I always say yes. I will always find a way to make it happen.
But this isn’t what I want for you.
I want your photoshoot to be a celebration, not a goodbye.
Let’s capture your dog while they still have that unmistakable spark, full of life, mischief, and love.
Let’s capture them the way you want to remember them.
Like Norman, 14 years young, who still tries to chase ducks along the Thames.
His owner told me his defining moment: swimming across the entire width of the river after some ducks, leading to a full-blown boat chase just to get him back. That’s the kind of mischief you want frozen in time. That’s a story worth holding onto.
Celebrate Your Dog’s Golden Years While You Still Can
Every senior session is gentle, calm, and customised to your dog’s needs. Whether they prefer curling up on the super popular and comfortable red St Lois chair, exploring the studio on the hunt for treats, or sitting by your side, we make the experience all about them.
We focus on:
Their unique personality
Your bond together
Quiet moments, silly smiles, and soulful eyes
It will be an unforgettable experience leaving you with images which will only grow more special with time.
We had our photoshoot just over a year ago now. Still absolutely obsessed with the photos. Was an important shoot as I wanted to capture three generations with my elderly Kizzy, Kiki and Kali. I couldn’t have wished for better images! Christabel was amazing with the three divas, patient as ever with the old and blind camera hating lady and the tennis ball obsessed Kiki and amongst the chaos captured the most stunning photos of our girls. Will definitely be having another shoot in the future!
Kizzy has since crossed the rainbow bridge and I am so thankful for the high quality images Christabel captured of her being her authentic self.
What a joy! I’ve asked Christabel to do my Christmas cards for years, but always meant to do a proper shoot. Sadly, I waited too long for one of my lovely dogs, Dolly. So I was determined not to miss the chance with Curly.
Christabel honoured Dolly’s memory beautifully and treated blind Curly with such compassion—pacing the session to her needs, even bringing a teddy body double for lighting tests while Curly snoozed. The results are exceptional.
We’ve come away with memories to treasure for the rest of my life. What a gift you give us, Christabel—it is totally immeasurable.
If you love your pets, don’t wait. You may need bigger walls for the photos, but you’ll never regret having them.
An absolutely fantastic photographer. A very enjoyable experience start to finish.
The hardest part was picking only a few photos—we wanted them all!
I’d highly recommend. Only regret was not doing this sooner!
We found Christabel online and knew straight away she was the one for us. Even so, we were blown away by how professional, welcoming, and thoughtful she was.
She didn’t force anything—just guided us gently, asking all the right questions and really capturing the heart of our Poppet.
Communication was fantastic from the start, and the results speak for themselves. We now have a beautiful photo box and a set of images we’ll treasure forever. We’re planning to have one printed large for pride of place in our new home.
Absolutely. I tailor every senior session around your dog’s comfort and needs. Whether they’re most relaxed lying down, sitting beside you, or snuggled in their bed, we’ll capture beautiful, authentic portraits without causing stress or discomfort.
No problem at all. Many of the dogs I photograph are visually or hearing impaired, or a little nervous. The studio is quiet and calm, and I work at their pace with no pressure.
Of course! These portraits are just as much about your bond as they are about your dog. Whether it’s a quiet cuddle or a full family photo, you’re always welcome to be part of the session.
Yes. If your dog is unwell or time-sensitive, I’ll always prioritise your booking. Please let me know when you enquire, I’ll do my best to fit you in right away and make the experience as gentle and meaningful as possible.
Most senior sessions are held in my dog safe studio in Risca, which is fully set up for comfort and accessibility. If your dog would be more relaxed at home or outside, we can discuss other options too
Usually around 60 minutes, but we go entirely at your dog’s pace. There are plenty of breaks, treats, cuddles, and if they need a nap, we let them snooze!
Their story deserves to be told, just as they are now, full of love, quirks, and character. Let’s create something beautiful together.
